Drugs

I was convinced not to take drugs by the West Australian government’s “Drug Aware” campaign. I thought that its slogan “Drugs are for mugs” was so lyrical and persuasive that it inspired me to discover more words that rhymed with “ugs”. And then I wrote this poem:

Don’t do drugs

Drugs are for mugs

Drugs are for bugs

Only bugs can be found in mugs

Don’t drink from mugs.

Don’t do drinks

Methinks drinks stinks

And it might take a bit of practice

But you can stop eating that cactus!

So don’t do the drugs!
